Accreditations and What They Mean For The Consumer

A contractors accreditations are arguably one of the most important aspects of what sets them apart from the competition. An accreditation in a particular field, or skill is evidence of a certain level of expertise or experience, and can instil confidence in clients when making a decision on which contractor to appoint for their project. It is always important to know that the contractor is well versed in the type of work you are about to commission, and having certification or awards in that specific area is an encouraging sign that you are in safe hands

Not All Accreditations Are Equal

The trouble with accreditations in todays marketplace, is that there are so many of them out there, how do you know which ones actually mean anything. The sad reality is that there are a large number of accreditations out there which are able to be bought, as opposed to earned; it’s not uncommon for certain companies to pass themselves off as some sort of certification board with a snazzy website and pages and pages of content, designed to hoodwink the public into believing they are an authority on the subject they are representing. These companies then invite all the contractors they can find to sign up to their “accreditation system”, for a fee, and the contractor gets a nice shiny badge to show off on their website, vehicles and headed paper. However, in some cases these accreditations aren’t worth the paper they are written on, the bottom line is that these companies are selling a badge, which gives the consumer a false sense of security in the contractors ability

Our Discretion In Accreditation Is Your Assurance

When we started in the industry many years ago, we were often tempted to affiliate our company with the various federations and confederations associated with roofing, but on closer inspection these companies were not carrying out due diligence on contractors, therefore they offered nothing of value to the client, and so we decided to only align ourselves with professional organisations who did rigorously vet, inspect and test our own, and our competitors’ competence and standards. As a result, we don’t have 101 badges or logos on our website, however the logos we do have, represent real quality and the companies behind the logos have verified us after a series of qualifying steps have been met. Whether it’s the Trusted Trader logo, or the Guild of Mastercraftsmen logo you see on our site, you can have confidence that these organisations are there to ensure our high standards are maintained year in and year out, for the benefit of our clients.

Not Only Winning Awards But Maintaining Them

One of our proudest accreditations is our spot on the ThreeBestRated platform which, as the name suggests, is an online certification portal for trades services which scores and ultimately promotes the 3 best contractors within any specific region. After careful research and a rigorous 50 point inspection, assessing reviews, reputation, history, price, proximity and more to ensure excellence, only 3 premium contractors are selected and approved on the portal. We are delighted to report that we have again been selected to remain on the portal for the 5th consecutive year, demonstrating that our quality of service has consistently been delivered year after year within the industry.
